October 30, 2011: Panic! At The Disco with Patrick Stump and Foxy Shazam

[…] Patrick Stump entered the stage right in time to get the audience excited for the headlining act. His set of “soul punk” dance tracks seemed scattered – there were multiple points where I couldn’t tell where one song was ending and another was beginning. Coming from his Fall Out Boy background, it was a little disappointing to see Stump performing decent rock infused funk-dance tracks overlaid with vocal acrobatics. It was more an impressive show of Stump’s ability to play multiple instruments than it was a collection of songs to last a whole set. The crowd, however, didn’t seem to mind and was happy to hear any music they were able to dance to. While I might expect more from the lead vocalist of Fall Out Boy, it was fun to see Stump in a new setting trying a new genre and not attached to his guitar for the whole set. […]
