‘Kidz Bop 21’ debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, which means that only Adele’s unstoppable album, also called ‘21,’ has sold more copies in the past week than a compilation album that features prepubescent session musicians singing today’s biggest hits. […]
To get to the bottom of this phenomenon, we here at AOL Music studied ‘Kidz Bop 21’ in detail and used a very, uh, scientific process to determine just how kidzified these revamps actually are.

Original Artist: Patrick Stump ft. Lupe Fiasco
Kidzification Factor: 63 Percent
Apparently it’s OK to talk about political and environmental issues in the abstract in the Kidz Bopiverse, as “Forget all the drugs and gangs corruption and pollution no” is only slightly altered to become “Forget all the trouble, corruption and pollution no.” No more detail is allowed, though, as neither Stump’s album version verse about slums and unethical politicians nor Lupe’s pointed observations on racism and property value from the single version make the cut here.
