It looks as though a proposal by Fall Out Boy asking Garden Spot High School Marching Band in Lancaster County to play together became a reality.
According to Lancaster Newspapers, the marching band played on stage Sunday night with Fall Out Boy in Scranton.
On Monday, Fall Out Boy Tweeted: ”GSHS were banned from playing fob at their games so we brought them to #MONUMENTOUR to play w us instead.”
Earlier this summer, Fall Out Boy asked the marching band via a YouTube video if they would be willing to play together. The band wrote beneath the video:
"hey garden spot high school we just wanted to reach out as supporters of art, music and the creative spirit in general… we know how much work goes into putting a song together. we wanted to either come visit you guys and play a song (that is sanctioned) or have you guys out to a tour date to play one with us…."
Garden Spot responded with their own YouTube video accepting the invitation.
The video exchange occurred after the school administration decided the marching band could not play instrumental versions of “Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” and Fall Out Boy’s “Thnks fr th Mmrs” because they contained inappropriate wording.
Fall Out Boy is on its “Monumentour” with Paramore which stopped in Hershey in July.
